shadesofpemberley asked: Maybe it was just me, but she seemed petty this season. The cartier necklace scene irked me. Sure, she likes shiny things, but come the fuck on. People are so butthurt over him shouting at her, but HE'S in charge. She isn't. She's the one who went up against him. Also, before someone jumps in with the "Eric would do anything for Godric" excuse, when Godric made his choice to meet the sun, yes, Eric fought back, but he walked off that roof. Pam fired a bazooka at the person Eric was protecting.

I really don’t think there’s a comparison between what happened with Godric and Pam firing a bazooka in Sookie’s direction. Even if Pam was acting in what she thought were Eric’s best interests, I think it shows a lack of confidence in him as a Maker/vampire in general. Eric’s been around for 1,000 years. That didn’t happen because he’s an idiot. He knew what he was doing and he had his reasons for making the decision he made. Pam could have killed them all by pulling that stunt, so what was the point of it?
With Eric and Godric I think Eric was stunned by his Maker’s decision. Godric knew what he was doing and he was at peace with his choice. Eric wasn’t at all prepared for Godric to die. He went to Dallas with the assumption that his Maker had been taken against his will. He figured they’d get Godric back and everything would go back to normal, but that didn’t happen. Eric made a verbal attempt to keep his Maker alive. You can bet your ass that if he had tried to physically fight Godric he would have lost, and there would have been hell to pay for it. But honestly, I don’t think Eric would have done that. He respected Godric far too much to be that selfish.
But that’s what’s disturbing about Pam’s sudden 180 in behavior. People were talking about how she was cursed by Marnie and it probably fucked with her brain, and maybe that’s true, but I don’t think that’s the case at all. I think that’s a convenient excuse for her to use. Notice how she could still be bad ass when she needed to, i.e. going after Tara in the cemetery. Pam would have killed her if Bill hadn’t ordered her to stop. Pam’s got her mental faculties, she’s just making some really shitty choices. There’s no one to blame for that but Pam.

THIS I agree with all of this!! The main reason I didn’t like Pam this season, is the same reason I don’t like Amelia in the books, she’s extremely selfish and hysterical the entire time.
