All of this religious talk makes me wonder where Steve Newlin really fits into all of this. He was such a “man of God” prior to being turned. Has he traded in all of his steadfast beliefs for this talk of Lilith? Or is his simply playing the game to keep from getting staked? If ever there was a bigger snake in the grass than Bill Compton, I’d think it would be Steve Newlin. And I still want to know who turned him. Really, that was a brilliant move because who is leading the fellowship now?
But when I hear Salome and Nora talking about Lilith all I’m thinking about are those crazy Christians who so blindly follow their faith and apply their own context to text that was written in at a time when the world was a very different place than it is today. It’s like homophobes that quote Leviticus to site God’s disapproval of homosexuality. If you understand the way society worked at that point in time the quotations take on a very different meaning than the way they are applied now.
And can I just say that if The Shining taught us anything, it’s to never trust a crazy looking broad that rises up all naked. NOTHING GOOD CAN EVER COME FROM IT.
*headdesking forever* MUST BE SUNDAY!
This here be a rant about True Blood’s episode tonight, but to save you all from having to read my insanity, I’ll stick it under a cut….
